1. Who we are

This website is operated by RGN7 Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16610754, whose registered office is at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London W1W 5PF (referred to in this policy as "RGN7", "we", "us" or "our"). For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, RGN7 Limited is the controller of personal data collected through this website. Questions about this policy or our handling of personal data should be sent to office@rgn7.co.uk.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect the following personal data through this website:

  • Information you provide through our enquiry form, namely your name, email address, the nature of your matter and the outline you choose to give us.
  • Technical information generated automatically when the form is submitted, namely your IP address and the date and time of submission.
  • Any further information you provide if you correspond with us by email.

Please do not send us confidential, privileged or sensitive information through the website. Until we have carried out our client acceptance procedures and issued a letter of engagement, information you send is not protected by any solicitor and client relationship.

3. How we use personal data and our lawful bases

  • To respond to your enquiry and to assess whether we are able to act. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services and, where relevant, taking steps at your request prior to entering into an engagement.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations that apply to us, including conflict checking and, where an engagement follows, anti-money laundering verification. Our lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
  • To maintain the security of the website and to prevent misuse of the enquiry form. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in the security of our systems.

We do not use personal data collected through this website for marketing and we do not sell personal data to any third party.

4. Sharing personal data

Personal data submitted through the website is transmitted to our email systems and stored with our website hosting provider and our email service providers, who act as processors on our behalf. We may also disclose personal data where we are required to do so by law, by a regulator or by a court order. We do not otherwise share your personal data.

5. International transfers

Our hosting and email providers may process data in locations outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as transfers to countries covered by UK adequacy regulations or the use of approved contractual protections.

6. Retention

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are retained for as long as is reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and to maintain a record of conflict checks, and are then deleted. Where an engagement follows, information becomes part of the client file and is retained in accordance with our professional and regulatory obligations, ordinarily for a minimum of six years after the matter concludes.

7. Your rights

Under data protection law you have rights that include the right to request access to your personal data, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact office@rgn7.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which can be contacted at ico.org.uk or by telephone on 0303 123 1113.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. Please note that email is not a secure medium and information sent by email is at your own risk until secure channels have been agreed.

9. Cookies

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking technologies. Certain images on this website are served from a third party content delivery network; when your browser requests those images, your IP address is necessarily disclosed to that provider in order to deliver the content. If we introduce cookies or analytics in the future, this policy will be updated and, where required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, your consent will be sought first.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the policy shows when it was last revised.
